Naturalist, poet, musician, sound artist, and educator,
Janina enjoys sharing her passion for life and the world around her
with family, friends, students, and everyone she meets.
Connectivity is the key!
Growing up in Edmonton, Alberta, Janina and her family always enjoyed
the outdoors and the multicultural setting of that city. Janina started her career in Biological Sciences and worked
as one of Alberta Recreation & Parks' naturalists for several years before moving on into the education
field as a teacher. Presently teaching in northern Alberta and BC, Janina is inspired by her students every
day, and joins with them in discovering the joys of life-long learning.
Sharing a keen interest in genealogy, Janina, has lived in Norway
on a language/work exchange for a short while and much of her Scandinavian studies/heritage shows through in Janina's writing.
She has travelled throughout Britain, Norway, Canada, and some of the USA.
Music, nature, story-telling, poetry, art, and drama figure high on
Janina's list of passions...all of which add to enrichment in the classroom, music, and writing. Janina who is half of the musical Duo, SomeAre Solstice Flutes,
with guitarist/dobro player, John Fletcher, once sang with "The Riled Flowers", a Dawson Creek-based trio, and the "Potluck in the Basement Singers" .
Janina's current project and passion is to learn more about and share
concepts of Eco-psychology and work more extensively with healing humanity and environment using the Native American style
